Heartbeat of Hope: NBC4 did air our story last Wednesday. On Wednesday morning they published an article about our story. They also did quite a big of plugging for our story throughout the day (some friends even texted me saying they saw some commercials for it on Tuesday night) - people at work were pinging me saying, "I just saw you on TV again." Even during the news, they actually made it a two-part story and had folks waiting on the edge of their seats to find out how things ended up for us. Talk about suspense! The first part aired at 5:15pm (link to article and 1st segment) and then the 2nd part aired at 5:45pm (link to 2nd segment). We actually didn’t watch it live – because my sister didn’t get home from work until 6pm. Although it was hard not to watch it live – I figured that waiting for her was the least we could do since she’s carrying our baby boys. ;) Ellie and her team did a great job of telling our story. Lots of friends told me that it made them cry – even though they know our story and have lived through it with us. Even though they didn’t interview my husband, they did use a lot of pictures of us two throughout the story – which was nice! The response on Facebook to our news story was again overwhelmingly positive. Since then I have received a couple of friend requests on Facebook from other ladies that struggled with infertility. Lots of people at work have stopped me to say they saw me on the news. And my sister even had a stranger recognize her at Panera last Friday. We have also received a couple calls from some national talk shows – which is just crazy. But we’re exploring our options right now and figure we don’t have anything to lose by sharing our unique story. No calls from Ellen yet, but our one friend has a theory that she’s waiting until the babies arrive. ;) Ellie does want to do a follow-up with us sometime when it’s closer to our due date. By then, we should have the house organized and news-camera-ready.
In closing, I'd like to shout out a happy anniversary to my Uncle Don & Anna who are celebrating 14 years of marital bliss today! Love and hugs to you both! Joby and I are also so thankful and blessed for such a wonderful July - full of lots of exciting preparation to get us ready for our little ones on the way. Thanks to everyone for their continued excitement and enthusiasm for us!
