Yesterday morning we went to have our initial IVF meeting and sounding appointment. The sounding appointment is where they measure your uterus so that they know how far to insert the embryos during the embryo transplant. Dr. Williams said everything looked good. :) Then we met with Nancy to review our IVF protocol. They gave us a folder with lots of helpful information. We also got our calendar with instructions for when to start/stop the different medications, scheduled appointments, and tentative time period for the egg retrieval and embryo transplant. We are both big planners, so we love the calendar! If all goes according to plan, we could have some hopefully good news by Valentine's Day.
I've also been emailing with one of my sister's close friends that went through IVF last April. She's due with their first baby in about 4 weeks. It's nice having someone who has gone through it to talk to. She has been very open about her IVF journey and I'm sure I will have tons of questions for her along the way
The pharmacy was supposed to ship our big box of medications to arrive on Tuesday the 28th. But due to some snowstorms in the northeastern part of the country, they rescheduled us for a delivery on the 29th. But we were not going to be here today for the delivery, so I called in and asked that they reschedule for tomorrow the 30th. I will call in the morning to make sure that it was shipped. We need the box before Sunday, so I can start the Lupron injections.
