Injection Training, Thursday 4/28: My sister showed up promptly at 6:45am on Thursday morning to receive injection training from my experienced husband. :) I gave myself the Lupron shot while my hubby gave her the overview. He talked her through the process step-by-step, from measuring out the estrogen to how to properly give the shot. She did a great job - I didn't feel a thing! So she is all ready to go to give me my estrogen shot on Monday morning. (Thanks for helping out, Seestah!!) That afternoon I worked out with my high school friend (that is also my co-worker - we're so lucky!) - we did the "Core Synergistics" P90X DVD. It was tougher than I had remembered! I also won a $25 gift card to Olive Garden during a raffle at a meeting during work that day - so it was a pretty great day!
Estrogen Levels, Friday 4/29: On Friday morning I stopped by LabCorp to get my blood drawn. This test was another test to check my estrogen levels. The nurse at the office is really sweet - she pretty much runs a one-woman show at that office. That afternoon during quite a busy workday, I got a phone call from Penny from the ART department. She had good news - my estrogen levels were right around 1,000 - which she said was right where they want me to be. I'm kind of surprised they don't have to do any more blood tests between now and the transfer. But I'm glad that my levels were where they need to be. Penny scheduled me for an ultrasound on Tuesday, May 2nd at 8:30AM. The purpose of this ultrasound is to make sure my lining is thickening as expected - which it should be based on my growing estrogen levels (my estrogen was at 9 back on April 14th ). Last night we went to my sister & brother-in-law's house to help shoot a puzzle time lapse video. There were about 9 of us working on a 1,000 piece puzzle. We started around 6:15pm and finished a little before midnight. I'll post the video when it's done! Our embryos are going to be so proud of their YouTube parents! ;) And FYI - not sure what I did different when I gave myself the shot, but the location of my Lupron shot from Friday morning is bruised (all red/purple/blue) - it looks painful, but doesn't hurt at all. So weird!! Oh, and my sister had her weekly appointment - she is now dilated 2cm and 65% effaced. Nephew #7 is getting ready to come and meet us!!
Today, Saturday 4/30: The last day of April is upon us and I'd like to wish a happy birthday to my sister-in-law, TIffini! :) This morning I got up at 5:30am so I could take my husband to the airport - he flew down to Charlotte for the week. He had a fun weekend planned with our friends down there- playing golf and cooking out! I got home around 6:30am and knew I had to do my Lupron shot at 7am - so figured there wasn't much point in going back to bed. I ended up doing some major cleaning in the house for the majority of the morning. After helping my sister wrap some birthday gifts, I swung by the mall to get my eyebrows waxed (they look MUCH better now). Then I went to our friends' house to celebrate their son's 1st birthday (Happy Birthday, Jack!!). He's such a happy little guy - was a little cautious with his smash cake, but eventually got the hang of it. He had a lot of help opening gifts from his big sister and my nephew, too. After the party I headed home - where my friends' mom, stepdad, and sons were hanging out while my friends house-shopped in Columbus (they are moving up from Cincinnati). My friends' mom & stepdad had to head out around 3PM, so I watched the two boys (3 years old & 18 months) until their parents got home. It was a beautiful day, so we played outside for a little bit as well. They are both such sweet little guys - I was happy to be able to help out and get some quality time with them - we look forward to them moving to Columbus this spring!
