Some friends have been asking how I'm feeling since the procedure. On Saturday I felt some cramping later in the day - but I'm not sure if it was because of the procedure or because I was eating too much! ;) Right now I feel fine - don't really feel any different. I guess some ladies may experience pregnancy symptoms during this time, but I don't know that I'm that in-tune with my body. I'm not trying to read into anything - just have to wait and see. Even though they said I can resume normal activity after the procedure - I'm still taking it easy by not drinking any alcohol and not working out. I also passed on getting into the new hot tub at my aunt/uncle's house this weekend. I know there's probably a ton of girls that have gotten pregnant while working out when they were drunk in a hot tub - but when it comes to getting knocked up, we all know that I am not like "most girls." ;) I'm willing to do or not do anything in order to increase the chances of this resulting in a pregnancy. Now that we're into the 2 week wait - all we can really do is have faith that things will work out for the best. We also like to keep a sense of humor about it. Below are some text messages that my husband and I exchanged on Saturday while we were apart:
Me: Sperm #3,456,124 says he misses you! :)
Him: he was my fav!!!
Me: The backyard is pretty sweet...
Him: Looks pretty awesome! Tell everyone hi for me. Especially #2,001,992.
IVF Buddy Update: Tonight we had my IVF buddy, my sister's family, and another neighborhood family over for dinner. It was nice to catch up with them all - especially my IVF buddy. From their 18 eggs, they were able to get two blastocysts to freeze. Blastocysts are the final stage of development for embryos - so it's great that they had two blasts. It's such a numbers game, so although they are a little disappointed that they only have two frozen embryos (we call them snowbabies) - they are trying to stay positive. I reminded her that it really only takes one good embryo to make a baby. And tonight we were saying how these two embryos must be beyond perfect - probably one will be president and the other will be a doctor. ;) They are going to go back on July 9th to do the frozen transfer. We will continue to pray for them and their 2 snowbabies!
In closing, I'd like to wish a happy 9th birthday to Cole and a happy 26th birthday to my Uncle George. :) It's hard to believe that tomorrow is the last day of May - let's hope that the month of May will bring us good baby news in June!
