Today I've had my most productive Monday of 2011 thus far. I started off by getting up at 6:10am and doing the "Cardio X" workout before my 7am Lupron shot. (Working Out + Getting Up Early = Gold Star for me!!) I made it to work by 8am and had a fairly productive day at work as well - despite the gloomy thunderstorms outside. On my way home from work I picked up some paint at Home Depot. After changing into my painting clothes, I threw together a delicious ham & potato casserole (Thanks, Tracy!!) and put it in the oven to bake for an hour. While our dinner baked, my husband and I painted the first coat of light yellow in my future workout room down in our basement (we're in the process of finishing our basement). We took a break to eat dinner and then went back down to do the second coat. Neither of us are the greatest painters in the world - but I think we did a good job. :) I cleaned my wedding ring (which is so sparkly now - yay!) and then painted my nails (which are surprisingly long thanks to a manicure I got a few weeks back). Then my husband and I went through our closets and drawers to donate clothes to the Kidney Foundation (they're coming by in the morning to pick up our stuff). After that we emptied the dishwasher and I cleaned up the kitchen - while watching a little bit of a cheerleading competition on ESPNU (I saw my friend's alma mater, Seton High School, compete). I just finished uploading some photo albums from the past couple of weeks onto Facebook and I'm about ready to call it a night! Whew - I think I deserve to skip ahead to Thursday - what do you think? :) Good night!!
My husband and I got married in 2005 and tried to start our family back in January 2008. We started our 1st round of in-vitro in December 2010 - which is when this blog was started. Despite a near perfect cycle, it resulted in a negative pregnancy test in February 2011. We were fortunate to get 6 extra embryos from that cycle that were frozen. In March 2011 we started a Frozen Embryo Transfer cycle. Despite another great cycle (on paper), all 6 of our frozen embryos had to be thawed to get 2 good ones for transfer - which failed to result in a pregnancy. In 2012, we took the first half of the year off and then tried a couple rounds of IUI with and without fertility shots - still no baby. In 2013, we did our 2nd round of in-vitro with my sister offering to be our gestational carrier. We ended up transferring 2 embryos into each of us and were blessed to welcome 4 babies in October 2013.
