My hubby and our buddy usually play in a Member/Guest golf tournament each year - but they weren't able to play in it this year. So they went out to the driving range to hit some balls around in the afternoon when the kids were taking their naps. Before they left, I took a couple of pictures of them in their golf shirts to serve as their Member/Guest photo for this year. They gave quite a few good poses - can't wait to post those to Facebook! ;)
In the afternoon I helped her middle son and daughter roll and cut-out some sugar cookies. Nathan picked out 3 cookie cutter shapes: a dog, an airplane, and a teddy bear. We had talked about making cookies the day before and on Saturday afternoon he came over to me and whispered, "Hey, don't forget about the cookies, okay?" Too cute! I appreciated the friendly reminder. He liked to roll his cookies nice and thin and then pat them with his hand to make them even flatter. Katelyn liked to make teddy bear cut-outs and hers were nice and thick. She did really well for her age and quickly figured out the steps! Nicholas was too busy learning "Mario Kart" tricks and tips from my hubby to cut-out any cookies with us.
That night the McMullens got a baby-sitter so we could go out for a double date! After getting ready we headed to downtown Greenville to catch a baseball game for their single A team, Greenville Drive. It was a nice night - not too hot for a baseball game. I honestly can't tell you what team they were playing against or whether they were ahead when we left, but I can tell you that their mascot was a frog named Rippit. :) I spent most of the game chatting with "Hi Puppy." Somehow we got on this infertility topic (shocking, aye?) - but it was nice to talk it out with her and get her thoughts. I actually asked her what she would do if she were in our position - which is probably a tough question to ask someone. But it was nice to hear her response. We also talked about how lucky we both are to have good relationships with our hubbies. And when there are stressful or tough times, we pull together instead of letting it tear us apart! She also said that she knows that somehow, someway we will get our family! After chatting at the baseball game, we walked with our boys to a local restaurant. We had a delicious dinner with excellent service and great company. After dinner we walked around the cute little downtown area. It has lots of little bridges and a nice park area with some little waterfalls. We stopped in for another drink at a sports bar - but ended up calling the cab and heading home at a rather responsible time. We were all kinda tired and ready to head home!
