This morning when Chris (one of the IVF nurses) called me to talk about our transfers, she started off by asking me how we wanted to do it. I told her that ideally we would like to be there for my sister's transfer and asked if we could have her go first. She asked if I wanted to have them schedule another transfer in-between us, but I told her that I could go right after my sister. So that's how we got our 10:55AM and 11:10AM transfer times. I thought it was really cool that they let us decide.
- 9:45AM: We both need to empty our bladders - aka "go potty for the last time before the transfer."
- 9:45-10AM: My sister needs to drink 16-20 ounces of water.
- 10-10:15AM: I need to drink 16-20 ounces of water.
The ultrasound guided embryo transfer is the most efficient technique currently available and that's what my doctor's office does. Here is some information I found online about the actual embryo transfer procedure:
THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE: Thank you so much for all of the sweet blog comments, loving Facebook messages, encouraging Communicator chats, supportive texts, phone calls, and prayers today. We have already gotten spoiled with so many goodies for our post-transfer bed-rest. The Troy girls gave us an super thoughtful basket of sweets (and sours), homemade banana bread, magazines, cake pops, gum, wipes, chapstick, body lotion, snacks, Fanta (caffeine free), and an iPad (on loan). On top of the basket, they also gave us some homemade lasagna and delicious salad to feast on. They totally did not need to do that - but we appreciate the sweet gesture more than they'll ever know. My sister and her family also got us a cute basket of goodies, too. The little froggy basket had a sister quote block for me and some Bengals salt/pepper shakers for my hubby. And there were 13 chocolate eggs in the basket.... one for each of our little embryos. So sweet of them to get us a gift - since they are the ones giving us the best gift ever by being a part of this cycle. I wonder if Bill & Giuliana's gestational carrier got them a gift on their transfer day, too. Somehow, I doubt it. ;)
In closing, I'll leave you with a Bible verse that a friend texted me today. She said she had been looking at Bible verses all day - asking God to give His words to share with us. Thanks, LP!
