Just thought some of you may be wondering about my IVF buddy. She and her husband went to Vegas for a long weekend to just get-away from it all! (We said that we were going to go on vacation somewhere if our IVF cycle didn't work-out, but didn't end up going anywhere.) I'm glad that they actually went and I can't wait to hear about their trip. They met with Dr. Williams back on March 14th. Since her first test was a positive result and her second test wasn't, he said that she had what they call a chemical pregnancy. They are planning to move forward with another round of IVF and Dr. Williams said they were going to be a little more aggressive with the Gonal-F to see if they can get more follicles/eggs this time around. Since she was technically pregnant, they have to wait for one more cycle after her next period to start the cycle. She is thinking that they will start the IVF process again towards the end of April. We are very excited for them and wish them nothing but the best!
I've gained a few pounds since we got our bad news back in February. I resumed teaching my aerobics class once a week since then, but that's usually been about the only exercise I've been getting each week. And I've been pretty much eating whatever I want - perhaps my way of "treating" myself with comfort food as some sort of weird extension of a pity party. But I'm ready to get back on track - being more careful about what I eat and working out more regularly. I kicked if off today by doing the "Shoulders & Arms" & "Ab Ripper X" workouts from P90X this afternoon. It felt good! :) I'm allowed to work-out right up until the transfer day - so it's on like Donkey Kong between now and Friday the 13th.
We're catching up on Parenthood right now - they have a storyline about secondary infertility (infertility after having a child). I can imagine that that type of infertility must be equally frustrating. But it is good to see infertility themes showing up on TV - it gives it more visibility and helps people to kind of see what others are going through. And it makes people like us that are going through realize that we're not alone.
The Academy of Country Music Awards are on tonight as well - yay!! :)
