As for my PUPO state, my boobs are still feeling tender/sore. From time to time throughout the day, I feel like I'm a little off - but I feel like I may just be trying to hard to try to find symptoms. I know some ladies have the symptoms and end up not pregnant. And other ladies don't have any symptoms and end up pregnant. So we can't really put too much on the symptoms. I was curious about what should be happening to the embryos, assuming that things are going well. I found this information online regarding what happens each day after a Day 5 transfer:
5-Day Transfer: Days Past Transfer (DPT) Embryo Development
Day One: The blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell
Day Two: The blastocyst continues to hatch out of its shell and begins to attach itself to the uterus
Day Three: The blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining, beginning implantation
Day Four: Implantation continues
Day Five: Implantation is complete, cells that will eventually become the placenta and fetus have begun to develop
Day Six: Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) starts to enter the blood stream
Day Seven: Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
Day Eight: Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted
Day Nine: Levels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy
Interesting to see what needs to be happening each day for us to get the pregnancy we've been praying and hoping for. Today is Day Five, so let's hope that one or both of our embryos have completed implantation! Only 5 more days and we will know whether we can make it past the 1st beta test hurdle. In closing, I'd like to welcome Lucas Ian into the world (born 5/17/2011) and wish a happy birthday to my cousin, Lily! Good night. :)
